Scope and who we are

This policy explains how La Butler handles personal information when you browse our website, contact our team, or enquire about a private gem journey in Sri Lanka. References to ‘we’, ‘us’, and ‘our’ mean La Butler.

For questions about your information or this policy, email hello@labutler.com. Separate booking documents may explain additional information needed to arrange your journey.

Information you share with us

The information we receive depends on how you choose to interact with us. Our enquiry forms ask for information that helps us understand your plans.

  • Contact details: your name, email address, telephone number, country, and preferred way to be contacted.
  • Journey preferences: intended travel dates, party size, interests, preferred experiences, accommodation preferences, and budget where provided.
  • Enquiry details: messages, questions, and other information you choose to include in correspondence.

How we collect information

We receive information directly from you when you email, call, or message us. The website’s enquiry forms prepare an email in your own email application. Completing a form does not send the enquiry automatically; you must send the prepared message. Your email provider processes that message before it reaches us.

Website hosting and delivery services may process technical request information, such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, and time of access, to deliver and protect the website. See our Cookie Policy for information about browser technologies.

How and why we use information

We use information you provide to respond to your enquiry and help arrange the services you request.

  • Understand your travel interests and prepare a tailored proposal.
  • Communicate about itineraries, appointments, and practical arrangements.
  • Coordinate requested services with relevant travel and gem trade partners.
  • Maintain correspondence, resolve questions, protect our services, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations.

Sharing information and external services

To respond to you or arrange a requested service, relevant information may need to be shared with our communication providers and the hotels, guides, transport providers, or other partners involved in your journey. Please ask us if you would like to understand who will receive information for a particular arrangement.

Email services, external websites, and social platforms operate under their own privacy policies. Following an external link or contacting us through another platform means that provider may also process your information. Providers and journey partners may process information in countries outside your place of residence.

Keeping information safe and retaining it

We aim to limit access to personal information to the people and providers who need it for the purposes described here. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Information is retained according to the purpose of the enquiry or arrangement, our ongoing relationship with you, and any applicable recordkeeping or dispute requirements. You can contact us to ask about the retention of your particular information.

Please do not include passport details, payment card details, medical information, or other sensitive information in a general website enquiry. If additional information is needed for a booking, ask us about the appropriate way to provide it.

Your choices and requests

You can choose what you share in an enquiry and ask us to correct inaccurate information. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also have rights to access, delete, restrict, or object to certain uses of your information, or to withdraw consent where processing relies on it.

Send requests to hello@labutler.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some information may need to be kept to complete requested services or meet applicable obligations. You may also raise concerns with the relevant data protection authority.

Children and policy updates

Our website enquiries are intended for adults arranging travel. A parent or guardian should manage any information needed for a child travelling in their party.

We may revise this policy as the website or our services change. The date above shows when this version was updated.
